Question #3:

What pet should i get (easy 10 points)?

Okay so i have a lot of problems with pets. I am allergic to parakeets,my brother is allergic to cats. I can clean cages BUT my parents are divorced so i can't clean it all the time. I can't have hamsters because my mom and sister is scared of them. No rodents with long tails. And absolutely no snakes. I want an animal that can cuddle and play. And i am only allergic to feather dust on birds so if there are any birds with little or no feather dust would be okay. I have 2 dogs and my mom said "No more dogs!" so that's out to. I know how to take care of animals and i am willing to take time off of my day to play and clean the cages. I told you i have problems with animals! Any ideas? Oh yeah i ride horses but i live in a place with out a farm. SO again any ideas?
Okay sorry to people who wanted me to get a bunny. My sister has one and it smells horrible and bites everyone. And by it's at my dads house.

Question #8:

I bought a young tropical parakeet, what species is it . . . ?

I bought it from the bird market where sellers don’t even know the species that they’re selling. So I always have to identify birds myself.

What species is this?

I’ve narrowed this bird down to the Red-breasted parakeet (Psittacula alexandri), the Long-tailed parakeet (Psittacula longicauda) or the Blossom-headed parakeet (Psittacula roseate). Which one do you think it is?

Since this bird is very young, it still hasn’t acquired its adult plumages yet, but it already has the traces of its adult coloring. I’m excited to know which species it is and I’d be grateful if you can take part in identifying which species my new parakeet is.

Thanks!
You guys don't even read my question . . .

Question #9:

Question about injury to a parakeet?

I am taking care of my friend's parakeet for a week, and when I opened the door to feed him, he got out and was flying around the room. I was terrified because I have two cats and wanted to catch him before THEY did. I finally got my hands around him and as gentley as possible returned him to his cage. He lost a couple of his longest tail feathers, and seems unharmed, but on one side of the beginning of his wing, the hair is standing up a little bit. I'm hoping I didn't hirt him, (he could have lost it while trying to get away,) but I wonder if there's someone out there who can reassure me that he'l be okay. He seems alright, but I am still worried. Can anyone reassure me? I don't want to try to touch him to see if I can just smooth it down, he's very timid and doesn't know me. Any assurances or information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Question #12:

My parakeet losing feathers near his beak. Also lost tail feather.?

My parakeet is about one year old. He is white in color. He has lost feathers around his beak, especially the lower part. Its been a month since he is like this, otherwise he is active. He has some kind of allergy near his beak. Also he lost his long tail feather two days ago. I have 4 birds, but he is the only one who always wants to come out of the cage, but after sometime he himself gets back in. He is very intelligent and friendly.

My other 2 parakeets have long tails, but the one that seems to be sick has lost her tail. and today I noticed she has these kinda white bumps on her feet. Question #15:

names for birds and reptiles?

i need good names for birds (finches and parakeets) and reptiles (long tailed lizards and tree frogs)

***please be serious

Question #16:

What is the difference between a Parrot and a Parakeet?

My understanding from my own research on the subject is that a parakeet is a parrot whose tail is one third again of its body-length, and has NOTHING to do with the size of the bird.
E.g. Alexandrine Parakeet - long tail, African Grey Parrot - very short tail, Indian Ringneck Parakeet - very long tail, finch - parrot - short tail, etc...

Question #17:

I've recently acquired a bird. I was told this bird was a parakeet. Five months later, a visitor in my home

stated that my bird is actually a parrot. I don't know, maybe it is a parrot. How can tell what kind of bird this is? I remember having a parakeet as a child and it seems like it had long tail feathers unlike "Beekers" who is sporting what I would call no tail feathers. He makes all kinds of interesting sounds and has multi-colored feathers most of which are grey, some yellow, a little orange. It's beak seems to curve downward. What do you think it is?
